Children’s Book Cover
Handmade | Type Experimentation
A fun, off-screen approach for the re-design of a children’s book “If You Give a Pig a Pancake” was used for this project. Through play with food typography and drizzles of syrup, the imagination of this story comes to life in this handmade design.
The Process
The process of making letters out of pancakes was a lot of fun. It took a little bit of work to figure out the best consistency in order to keep the batter from oozing all over the griddle while the letter cooked, but I got there!
After trial and error, I was satisfied with all of the letters I needed for this handmade project. And my husband was more than happy to eat all of the pancake letter “rejects.”
This work was produced as a student project based on a brief for Shillington School of Graphic Design.
